Mass of ordination to the permanent diaconate celebrated at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Melbourne, on Saturday, 14th November 2015

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today my dear friends, we stand with Graeme Pender and Allan Ansell, who surrounded by their families, by their brother deacons and their loved ones to come forward for Ordination to the Diaconate.

After a long journey in married life, with the incomparable support of their wives and families, they come to ordained ministry after the example of Christ the Servant. On fire with the Word of God, prayerfully ministering at the altar and reaching out to all in charity they will be a further extension of the call given to all the ordained to be distinguished in service and in love.

We congratulate and welcome them and we thank their wives for so much support.
 + Denis J. Hart,
ARCHBISHOP OF MELBOURNE.
