Les Murray, Australia’s unofficial poet laureate, passed away yesterday at the age of 80. A Catholic convert, his poems deal with religion, death, family, and art through the lens of rural Australia. Here is a piece we ran on him in 2013 in Kairos, Volume 24, Issue 6.
