On 19 June, 2006 Australia’s Apostolic Nuncio announced the appointment of Bishop Mark Coleridge as the new Archbishop of Canberra and Goulburn. Bishop Coleridge, 57, is currently an Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne. He succeeds Archbishop Francis Carroll, who is retiring having reached the age of 75.
Bishop Coleridge will depart for Canberra on 16 August and the Mass of Reception as Archbishop of Canberra and Goulburn will take place in St Christopher’s Cathedral on Thursday, 17 August at 11am. We wish him every success in the Canberra-Goulburn diocese.
