As of this week, Australia’s the Hon Neville Owen is one of the most important people in the church in the area of child safety. Last Saturday, Pope Francis appointed eight new members of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors. Among them was the Hon. Justice Neville Owen, Australian chair of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council.

During his annual Lenten meeting with the priests of Rome last week, Pope Francis confirmed that Blessed Pope Paul VI will be made a saint sometime this year.

‘Paul VI will be a saint this year,’ the Pope said, at the end of a long question and answer session with priests of Rome. The text of the private meeting has been published by the Vatican.
