AVE MARIA: CONCERT IN ST PATRICK’S CATHEDRAL

AVE MARIA: FOUR CENTURIES OF MUSIC HONOURING THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
Wednesday 11 October, 6.45–7.45pm
St Patrick’s Cathedral, Cathedral Place, East Melbourne
This night of music spanning four centuries will present vocal and organ tributes to the Blessed Virgin Mary, in whose honour much of the program was composed. From Ave Marias by Bach/Gounod, Michael Head and Giulio Caccini, to Cesar Franck’s glorious Panis Angelicus, the recital will also include music by Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi and more. Performers are Frederica Cunningham and Lyndon Green (soprano and tenor), both distinguished graduates of the University of Melbourne and celebrated performers, along with internationally renowned Melbourne organist, arranger and composer Anthony Halliday at the St Patrick’s Cathedral organ keyboard.
Cost: $20 at the door. Children under 15 free.
