CATHOLIC VOCATIONS OFFICE: 2018 CAMINO IN SPAIN AND PORTUGAL
Monday 25 June (arrive Madrid) to Friday 20 July (depart Lisbon)
In 2018, Catholic Vocations Melbourne is excited to offer Catholic young men of Melbourne the opportunity to walk the ancient pilgrimage route of the Camino de Santiago to the tomb of St James the Apostle. The 500km trek on foot will provide pilgrims with the opportunity to step out of their ordinary lives and to dedicate some time to asking some of life’s big questions. Each day pilgrims will have the opportunity for Mass, confession, spiritual direction and prayer. After reaching Santiago de Compostela, the pilgrimage will conclude with two days of prayer and relaxation at the beautiful shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. Your Pilgrimage Chaplains are Fr Nicholas Pearce and Fr Joel Peart from the Archdiocese of Melbourne. Archbishop Denis Hart fully supports this Camino. ‘As the Church in Australia enters into the Year of Youth and Vocations, I am pleased to support this initiative, and encourage the young men of Melbourne to take up the challenge and join the Camino 2018 team.’ The Pilgrimage is four weeks in total and departs after the last week of university semester one exams, returning in time for week one, semester two.
Costs:
Flights Pilgrims will organise their own flights, arriving in Madrid and departing Lisbon (allow approx. $2000).
