HEALING HOPE: A CONFERENCE

Catholic Leadership Centre, 576 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne
Presented by Catholic Social Services Victoria, this conference is the national
conference for all Catholic social services, with scores of illustrious
presenters over the three days, from archbishops to priests, academics to
leaders in the Church’s delivery of social services. The event will address key
issues facing our society and our sector, and at each stage looking at the
implications for us as individuals, for our organisations and for our sector.
The conference program outlines the way that the theme of ‘Hearing, healing,
hope’ will be played out through forums, workshops, liturgies, etc. ‘A healthy
earth for a flourishing society’ and ‘Family violence prevention and response’
are two key conference topics. Other features include these forums:
- Changing the
economic paradigm, with Joe Zabar, Ged Kearney and John Roskam
- Responding to
abuse, ensuring safe environments and dedication to service
- Mary MacKillop
Oration, with Geraldine Doogue
- The 2020 Plenary
Council of the Church in Australia
- Key current
issues in human rights (as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights).
Workshops on NDIS, housing, governance
issues, Indigenous engagement, parishes and service, caring for vulnerable
clients and many more will ensure a comprehensive understanding of key issues.
Cost: $425, plus $75 for conference dinner. A group discount of 10% is
