NAIDOC JULY ART EXHIBITION

Event date: 3/07/2018 - 31/07/2018 Export event

NAIDOC JULY ART EXHIBITION
Tuesday 3 July to Tuesday 31 July
St Francis Pastoral Rooms, corner Lonsdale and Elizabeth Streets, Melbourne

This NAIDOC art exhibition is titled ‘Aboriginal way of the Cross’, an exhibition produced by the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry and featuring paintings by the extraordinary John Dunn. John is a member of the ‘Stolen Generations’, and these Stations are an exploration of his own journey. They illustrate beautifully how Aboriginal people really do resonate with the sufferings of Jesus. The story of hurt, pain and spiritual suffering is one that many Aboriginal people can identify with but it also tells the story of coming out the other side a stronger person. This is the story of art of new beginnings, highlighting that where there is faith there is always hope.
