It's not often you stop and consider the work that goes into creating a day of family fun with rides, numerous food stalls, bookstalls, clothing and bric-a-brac stalls, and Devonshire teas. Melbourne Catholic spent some time with the team at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ringwood for a closer look into how making a fete brings out the best in a community.

Today, hundreds flocked to Melbourne’s St Patrick’s Cathedral for the State Funeral of Sisto Malaspina, the co-owner of the iconic Pellegrini’s Espresso Bar. Friends, family and customers united in grief for the beloved restaurateur and Victorian icon who was killed in the Bourke Street terror attack this month.

The Aboriginal Catholic Ministry for Victoria hosted ‘Our Survival Journey’ an event that celebrated the unveiling of a collection of vibrant and symbolic Catholic Indigenous art pieces created by traditional and contemporary Aboriginal artist, John Dunn. The works were presented as a gift to the Aboriginal and Catholic communities of Victoria as a deep expression of their faith and hope for the future.
