WALKING WITH INIGO: IGNATIAN CAMINOS IN 2017

Event date: 23/05/2017 Export event
In May and June 2017, a group of pilgrims will walk part of the route taken in 1522 by Íñigo López de Loyola (who later became St Ignatius of Loyola) from his home in Spain’s Basque country to Montserrat and Manresa. The ‘Camino Ignaciano’, or the ‘Ignatian Way’ begins at the birthplace of Ignatius Loyola in Spain’s Basque country, in a village near the small town of Azpeitia. It ends in the town of Manresa near Barcelona, where Ignatius rested for some months after his journey from Loyola. Pilgrims will walk part of the same route as Ignatius, passing through many towns that he did, praying at churches where he did, and marvelling at the natural wonders that he saw. Join in for a 15-day outer and inner journey: the outer reasonably well marked; the inner less so.
Cost: $2,500 pp (not including airfares)
