ACU National launches Asia-Pacific centre to enhance peaceful coexistence of all religions

Melbourne, 29 August: Australian Catholic University (ACU National) will officially open its Asia-Pacific Centre for Inter-religious Dialogue (APCID) this Thursday 31 August. Created to promote mutual tolerance between followers of all faiths, the APCID will be officially opened at the University’s Melbourne Campus (St Patrick's) by His Eminence Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, Archbishop of Westminster and His Eminence Mehmet Ali Sengul, Honorary President, Australian Intercultural Society (on behalf of His Excellency M. Fethullah Gülen).  ACU National Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Sheehan AO will preside at the event.

Catholic parishes to take stock in National Church Life Survey

Well over 500 Catholic parishes from across Australia are taking part in the 2006 National Church Life Survey, the largest inter-church event this year.
The National Church Life Survey provides Australia’s Christian churches with an opportunity to reflect upon their experiences of church life. Every church that takes part in NCLS 2006 will receive a kit of results, including a 28 page Church Life Profile containing their unique results, as well as other resources.
