Woody's London calling

Woody's London calling

Match Point
Starring: Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers. Directed by Woody Allen. Rated M. 124 mins.

LONDON HAS GIVEN WOODY Allen a new lease of life. He obviously loves the city, with more than enough sights of well-known and unknown locations. He also communicates differently in this film from his New York stories despite similarities in characters and themes through a principally British cast – their different accents, vocabulary and voice inflections. At times, Match Point is more British than British.

Compelling!

Film Review: Capote
Starring: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Kenner, Clifton Collins Jnr. and Chris Cooper. Directed by Bennett Miller. Rated MA 15 +. 98 minutes.

TRUMAN CAPOTE WAS FAMOUS during his lifetime for his extraordinary writing, his acerbic tongue, his wit and his public homosexuality. Director Bennett Miller captures all of these elements in this compelling film.
