Following last Sunday's 11am Mass, Archbishop Peter A Comensoli recorded a special message for all the faithful of Melbourne. In it, he explains the significance of the pallium he wears, which he received from Pope Francis a year ago in Rome. "The pallium recalls the sheep that the shepherd is called to bear on his shoulders," Pope Francis said at the time. "It is a sign that the shepherds do not live for themselves but for their sheep." Archbishop Peter also sent his gratitude and prayers to two of our local clergy – Bishop Mark Edwards OMI and Monsignor Greg Bennet – both of whom will soon depart the Archdiocese of Melbourne to take up new leadership roles.
