Fr Rob Galea’s ‘Coming Home’ tour kicked off at the Moonee Ponds Clock Tower on Sunday, attracting young and young at heart alike for what was a musically uplifting and prayerful experience enjoyed by all.
The two-hour show was filled with a collection of new songs from his latest album ‘Coming Home’ along with a selection of well-loved tunes from previous albums. The genre styles varied from current vibrant pop sounds right through to smoky rhythm and blues.
‘Some of the songs on my new album are a bit dark… because when you write Christian music people expect you to write happy music all the time,’ explained Fr Rob after a performance of one of the newest tracks on his album.
‘But for me, that’s not the Christian reality. Life is full of ups and downs, times when you want to get out, times when you feel like you’re wrestling with God, times when you’re wishing things would go a different way.’
Incorporating a backdrop of cinematic and reflective storytelling, the show featured stories from Fr Rob’s life and a few special guests who accompanied his band, including songwriter and rapper from the USA Josh Angrisano, and songwriter, vocalist and Vocal Director of the TV show ‘The Voice’, Gary Pinto.
Throughout the night Fr Rob encouraged participation from the audience which included a three-part harmony as directed by Gary Pinto and a dance which had everyone off their seats and smiling.
The ‘Coming Home’ tour continues with tickets selling quickly. Some seats are still available for his Shepparton show. To book your tickets head to
