On the 11th day at the 11th hour of November, on the initiative of Mark Clarke from the Social Justice office, a group of about 20 staff members from the Archdiocese of Melbourne headed across the road to the “Cross of Sacrifice” outside St Peter’s Anglican Church at Eastern Hill to pray for the souls of all who have died in armed conflict and for peace in the world.

Seven representatives from the Catholic community in Australia have returned from a visit to Papua New Guinea (PNG) to listen, pray and express solidarity with people seeking asylum and refugees and gain a better understanding of the human experience and complexities of the situation.
