Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, 362 Albert Street, East Melbourne

Lay Ecclesial Ministers are invited to attend this professional learning session which will explore the topic of domestic violence and focus on how our environment/context can influence attitudes of gender inequality. Through the use of case studies, artworks and stories, facilitator Nicole Rotaru rsm will offer insights to help enhance empathy and deepen awareness of the subtleties of the violence experienced.

Nicole is a Sister of Mercy, with a background in education, social work and creative arts therapy. Over many years she has accompanied individuals and families experiencing loss, grief and transition, both in Australia and in developing countries. Her experiences with people have deepened her gratitude and capacity to live with paradox and mystery, and enhanced her faith in an utterly loving and compassionate God.
